The Miracles Keep Happening!

Hey family! Long time no talk! (Just joking, I saw all of you on Facebook.) It's super weird to be using Facebook! I had to go through my entire profile and edit everything, but it's cool! We've been able
to contact a couple of our PIs over it, so it's nice. Yeah, it's pretty cool to be the first sister on an international mission to use it! By the way, thanks for commenting on my first post! That was fun to hear from all of you!

Oh also, so there was a mix up this week and we are actually going to the temple next week, so expect my emails on Tuesday again!

Not a ton happened this week. We went to Kichijoji for a Facebook meeting. That night M Shimai called me too! She just wanted to say hi! It was so fun to hear from her! Also, our PI E has become an investigator! She showed up to church all on her own, which was a miracle! We were able to talk to her a little bit about God, and she wants to hear more! We saw her a couple of times this week, so it's was really fun! She's great! I'm so grateful that we found her. The spirit told me to talk to her at first, so now I know to never pass up an opportunity like that. We have high hopes for her! She kept saying, "I'm so happy I met you two!" Best thing ever!

One funny thing that happened this week was M. Shimai and I got home at 9, and we were both really hungry. When we got home, though, the other two sisters had made a full on meal, so we are mac and cheese and brownies at like 9:30 at night. It was super fun! Some other food I ate this week was spam!! Seems gross, right? It was actually really good! I'll make it for you all someday! Also, I found my favorite sushi restaurant. It's like 2 minutes from our apartment, which is dangerous haha. I'll send pictures!

I love you and miss you all! Thanks for all the support! Talk to you next Tuesday! Love you! Tell the kitties hi!

Transfer 2 Begins!

I`m in Machida! I was welcomed in Machida with the Great Tokyo Blizzard Round two! It was crazy! It snowed all day again on Friday, and we got about 2 feet this time. It was so cold, but it was really fun still! Machida is great, it`s really different from Kichijoji, but I like it! It`s not as much as a city, and it has a lot of hills, so the views are beautiful! I`ll send pictures! M. S. is great! Her trainer was S. S.! Her mom is Japanese, and her dad is American, so she is half. But she`s fluent in Japanese! It`s great! We talk to a lot of people though because we are both Americans! Proselyting with her has been really fun!

Also, before I forget, I`m going to the temple again next week! Wahoo! So expect my emails on Tuesday again!

About Facebook. I found out this week that me and M. S. are the first two sister missionaries in the world on an international mission to start using Facebook. Pretty cool, right?? I`m proud of that title! We start using Facebook on Wednesday I think, so I`m pretty excited! Look for something from me then! Also, feel free to comment on it if you want. I`m not sure about the security restrictions yet, but I think I`ll be able to see the comments. It will be so weird getting back on Facebook, but I`m excited to dendo with it!

We met E san my first day in Machida! She was sitting by a river, so we went to talk to her. She was really nice! She`s about our age, so it`s great! We invited her to a party we had with the Elders at T.G.I. Fridays! It was one of the elder`s birthday, so we celebrated there! It was amazing! Totally American!! Seriously, so delicious. E san had fun too! We want to meet with her again this week, so we will see what happens! I have high hopes for her!

I was definitely sad to leave Kichijoji, it was really fun. But I`m excited to be in Machida! I had to travel on a train here all by myself! It was so scary! It took about an hour, and I was able to get here with the help of some Japanese people. Also, the bishop called and made me give a talk in church yesterday. I was so scared! It went pretty well though! I read a couple of scriptures, but I`m still really slow at reading in Japanese. The good news is I only had to speak in front of about 50 people. Because of the snow, church was shortened to just sacrament, and not a lot of people showed up, so it was nice! It took a lot of stress off of me. Also, the Machida church is beautiful! It`ll take a picture someday and send it!

That`s about all this week. I ate a lot of good food as always! Also,  there are two more sisters in our apartment, so it`s been really fun! One of them is from New Zealand, and she`s hilarious! Now I have Japanese friends and a New Zealand friend! Pretty cool, right??

I love you all, and I hope you have a great week! Talk to you soon!

Transfer 1: Complete

I survived my first transfer on the mission! It's been incredible, so many good experiences and I've learned a ton! It's gone super fast too! Like I can't believe it! I'm excited for the rest of the 11 transfers. The new missionaries are coming today, so I'm excited to see them!

So you know how last week I said the weather was really nice? Yeah, the next day it snowed. And it's been pretty cold all week. Saturday was absolutely crazy! We had the great Tokyo Blizzard of 2014! It literally snowed all day, and they got about a foot and a half of snow. I was talking to a Nihonjin and they said that they haven't seen snow like this in 15 years. Crazy! It looked like snow we see in Utah! They actually cancelled church because of it. The elders were so funny and made two huge (like 10ft tall) snowmen! It was great though because they talked to a lot of people that way! Great dendo (proselyting) opportunity! Fun fact for Japan, their snowmen are only two parts of the body instead of three. By the way, my coat is amazing! Even though it's been so cold, my coat works amazing! And the rainboots work great in the snow! So even though it's been cold, I've been keeping pretty warm.

This week S Shimai has been on splits in Kunitachi because one of the sisters went home, so I've been on splits with W Shimai all week. It's been super fun! She's a great missionary and we've had a lot of fun together. We taught two new PIs this week and they are both amazing! One agreed to get baptized! It's been a really good week for lesson! I also ate a lot of really good food this week! They have like this custard waffle that's amazing! You all have to try it when you come to Tokyo! Man, Japan's food is amazing! I love it! I'm actually sort of learning how to cook! But only Japanese food, so that might not help me when I get back to America.

In other news, I found out this week that I'm transferring! I'm going to Machida, and my new trainer will be M Shimai. Guess what though?? I have a "special assignment". I'm going to be one of six missionaries to try out Facebook! Yep, we are getting Facebook! And I get to start it out! I don't really know how it will work, but I'm excited! Also, Elder B is one of the missionaries starting Facebook too! I'll probably get to see him a lot more! I'm so excited! I'll definitely miss Kichijoji, but I'm excited for this new adventure.

The temple was amazing! It has a lot of stain glass, so it was beautiful! I loved it! We had to use translators, but it was still great! I got to see a little bit of actual Tokyo too! It was beautiful! Also, they celebrate Valentine's Day in Japan, but only girls buy presents. What's with that?? I guess though there is a day in March where the boys buy presents for their girlfriends. It's super weird!

That's about all for this week! I'll let you know how Machida is next week! I love you and I miss you all! Talk to you soon! Have a good week! I love you!

One Month in the Field!

Happy one month in the field to me! It's been a great month! To answer your questions: 1) a PI is a potential investigator 2) we teach Eikaiwa (English classes) every Wednesday. It's always a blast! 3) Everyone here likes BYU, so when I wear my Utah shirt, they don't like it haha. Oh well! 4) I'm glad you liked the Tokyo Tower postcard! yeah, I haven't actually seen it yet. But we are going into the city next week for the Tokyo Temple, so I might see it then! By the way, I won't email until probably Tuesday night (Tokyo time) next week, so expect it a day later than usual. 5) The weather is great here! It's not too cold, but everyone says that February is the coldest month, so it will probably get colder. The cherry blossoms will bloom in about two months, so I'm super excited for those!

This week was great! We really started focusing on the Spirit more, and we saw a lot of results! Most of our PIs are sick though, so we didn't get to see any of them really this week.

Tuesday wasn't very eventful, but we ate ramen. I love ramen! I'm excited for you all to try it! it's delicious!

Wednesday was the best! Our mission got iPads that day. It's so fun! We've used them in a couple of lessons, so it's been amazing! And everyone got their own, so we don't need to share! We had two lessons that day too, and they both went well.

Thursday was fun. It was raining, so we rode the train back and forth and talked to people. It's actually really effective and a lot of fun! I like talking to high school students the best because they think foreigners are the coolest thing ever!

Friday was fun! We met a girl from the States visiting Japan. I talked to her a little bit, and she had a little bit of interest! I gave her a pass along card, so I hope things work out for her. Also, I met Y san, and I talked to her all on my own! Sasaki S was talking to her friend, so I was on my own. It was great! She was interested, so I got her phone number! We plan on meeting her again next week! Wahoo!!!

Saturday I fulfilled Mom's dream and sang in a gospel choir. Literally. A guy named Jet comes to our church every Saturday and teaches a bunch of Japanese people to sing gospel. It's hilarious! And super fun! I enjoyed it a lot! I also met a Japanese person who can speak English, but when they talked in English, they had a British accent. It was crazy!

Not a lot happened Sunday, but we did talk to a lot of people, so that was fun!

Today was super fun because we went bowling as a zone! It was a blast! I'll send pictures!

That's about all for this week! I love you all! Thanks for everything you do! Being a missionary is great. I really do love it! Remember, I'll email on Tuesday next week! Love you!
